Once the largest, fastest ship in the world, the French-built SS Normandie retains the record to this day as the "most powerful steam turbo-electric-propelled passenger ship ever built." After it was seized in New York and renamed USS Lafayette during World War II, it caught fire while being converted to a troopship and sank to the bottom of the Hudson River. This paper version would have burned more quickly, but it pays graphic homage to her sleek design.
